2012 Grammys
The night that every musician and music lover looks forward to! You settle in on the couch, grab a snack and drink, don your favorite band t-shirt, and get ready to see some of the most entertaining, quirky, and moving musical performances of the year. But if you’re like me, and you are, you also cannot wait to see what the guys and gals down at the Grammys are wearing. From crazy weird–to crazy gorgeous, award shows seem to have it all!
When I see this I think, “Only Adele..” Which is a compliment! No one can quite pull off the vintage flare like her.
I also love that she’s channeling Russian nesting dolls. For the win, Adele.
Not quite ready to take on such a “big personality” dress? Try these. Same great shape (which flatters a lot of different body types) but not so bright.

Taylor Swift hit the red carpet in this ultra classy J. Mendel gown. With the braided low up-do, she’s obviously found her inner goddess.
Go Greek yourself! But maybe with a more appropriate neckline.

Can YOU spot the lady?
Don’t look too fast, you might miss Janelle Monae!
While we’re HUGE fan of the blazer/tailored jacket for men and woman alike, (and we’re definitely fans of JT and John) Janelle missed “strong woman” and went straight to matador. Lose the hat and tie, add some big voluptuous curls around that pretty face and this would have been on point.
She must have left her cape in the limo.
However, if you’re digging John M.’s classy jacket, steal the look for yourself!
*Side note: Leave the puffy purple eyes at home. John can keep THAT all to himself.

Katy Perry and Ashanti both hit the deck in peek-a-boob cutout dresses.
While these dresses aren’t awful, both would have been just as beautiful without gaping holes in the chest. Not my favorite look.
However, the color of Katy’s dress is right on point. If you like this “minty-seafoam green” you’re in luck! This color is super trending for spring this year. Pants, shirts, dresses, accessories–you got it.

*Side note: Add chunky necklace to replicate the flowers around Katy’s neckline

Kelly Osbourne looked extra classy in this black Paule Ka gown.
Needless to say, Kelly has come a long way.
Good work, Kelly.
Like Kelly’s look?

Also comes in mint! Eep!
Lions, and tigers, and Florence–Oh my!
Florence of Florence + The Machine showed up in this little diddy.
Is it just us, or does she look like she was making a detour on her way to the Emerald City?
“I’ll get you my pretty! And your little horse too! So shake it out!”
Just kidding, just kidding…in all seriousness the color looks phenomenal on her and the cut is beautiful. It’s just a little much. And the spikes? Not helping.
Don’t worry, Florence, the flying monkeys are not after you.
Rihanna looked flawless in this gorgeous Alaia gown. I don’t care if you like her music or not, this look is a 10 for her. And her performance of “Stay” with Mikky Ekko?
11.
While this look is clearly elegant and glamourous, it can be replicated in a casual–but still classy way.

Don’t try them together though. Please.
I have faith…in Faith.
Faith Hill doesn’t ever look bad, but I never would have expected her to look this on point. This dress is adorable. Also, not really visible in this picture, but Faith not only wore J. Mendel–but she wore braces too!
And her smile is still beautiful.

Although Lisa D’Amato an Riff Raff did not come together to the Grammys, it is rumored that they were both planning on attending the circus afterwards and thought it inconvenient to bring a change of clothes.
Remember, never lead by celebrity example.
Sometimes they’re the worst to look to when it comes to fashion.
BE YOURSELF. ALWAYS.
